It seems like we're watching a lot of our black stars get given SIGNIFICANT amounts of time for whatever the crime they commit is and nobody gives a damn. OJ being the most recent example of a big star, but take a minute and look at the time the other stars are getting for their crimes. Ones that just pop into my head...

23 months for dogfighting...almost twice the recommended sentencing. Proving a point, right America? Dogfighting...how this was deemed fair punishment is beyond me. Its amazing how nonsensical people get when it comes to dogs.

I'm sure there's other athletes and various types of stars that I'm leaving out but I really have to wonder, who do they need to throw in jail, and for what amount of time, before people actually wake up and notice whats going on? Or have we become SO accustomed to our black folks being treated unfairly in the justice system that we've started not only accepting it, but even endorsing it?

With the exception of Mike Vick who got screwed, the others dug their own graves.
Jones sat up there a put on a show righteous fury about being investigated and only came clean when the evidence was a lock. She got the time for lying.
If there was ever a reason for locking some one up for being stupid OJ is it.
Dude got away with murder and still couldnt keep his ass out of trouble.
Tim's case is strange in that i am not sure how much he sold to get that time.

They all got screwed to some degree. Jones' story is that she didnt know the stuff was steroids until the feds came knocking. Thats well after all the "righteous fury" you mention. If you didnt think you were doing steroids, you'd be all righteous fury about it too. She got locked up b/c when they showed her that the stuff WAS steroids, she lied about having used em.
In terms of OJ, whatever happened in his other case is SUPPOSED to be irrelevant. Makeup calls arent supposed to exist.
It seems that history continues to repeat itself. While I can't say I agree on all the examples you put up I will say that these individuals where on the wrong side of popular sentiment and opinion, thats what sealed their fate. I don't agree with that. But what scares me most is that these are the cases we hear about, they cases we don't, the "no names" are the ones that concern me most.

Thats exactly what I meant about people becoming so used to that kind of treatment that we just see it and shrug. Being black already means you wont get a fair shake. The fact that these folks are famous just amplifies it up another notch. Its an interesting dynamic b/c being famous, if you're white, means you get lenient treatment from the DOJ. An "interesting dynamic."
It kills me that the paris and nicole of the world get a couple hours in a cell and it's world news suffering. I don't care if OJ is stupid and I will call him stupid because he still is my brother. When he was convicted every white media personality looked like the cat that caught the canary when reporting the story. They get pleasure in seeing us caged.
Mike Vick is the saddest story of the decade. I'm like Chris, this bitch can shoot moose and be proud of it but Mike fights some dogs and his whole life goes in the shitter. I'm an animal lover too but I value human life over animals and that's the difference between us and them they value an animals life (hell anythings life) over ours. People make sport of hunting animals and that's okay but a fucking dog give me a break.
You can't expect a justice system to ever be able to work for you when it was never built for you. It kills me to see the "no names" like Pres mentioned standing up in front of the court with an absentminded public defender and not a snowball's chance in hell. The plan was set in motion soooooooo long ago for you to fail. They lock us up for the drugs but who supplies them? Guns, who ships them? I know niggas in my neighborhood who think going to downtown Chicago is going out of town so you tell me where this shit is coming from?
